Walking Away

We went and took pictures downtown in Abilene. I havn't taken any of the kids since December of last year and here it is already August and Christmas is already around the corner.

This picture made me think of when my children will one day walk away from my home and the life I know for them now and they will walk into their own path of life. I hope for them that when that day comes that I have helped them to know and see the love of Christ through showing them Christ and his love through me. I hope to have given them lots of chesrished memories of a good home life, fun with each other and mom and dad. I hope for them independence to walk on their own two feet and to come home anytime they may need. I pray now for the man or woman they will one day marry that he/she knows the love of Christ to be able to lead their own family together to the Father. I pray also that the Lord place Christian friendships in their pathway now to be able to grow up with these friends to be able to lean on in the future when trials come thier way.

It kills me to think of that day in the future when I will have to let go and let them walk thier own path in life but I am secure in knowing my King will take care of them! I find peace in that!

Girls Program Tuesday Thursday School

The girls had their end of year program on a Friday night. They had been practicing songs for weeks for the program. When we went to drop them off with their classmates before the program they cried and screamed and didn't want me to leave them. All the kiddos gathered before the program and then they were to walk out and go up in front of the church and sing all their songs for us. Russ and I tried to sit where the girlees couldn't see us. We just knew the moment they saw us, they would run right for us. To our amazement, they went right to their spot and sang the whole time. Now they didn't do the hand motions and all but we were simply amazed, especially being as shy as they are and all! We were so proud of them. It was so cute, Rylan got so tickeled at them singing during one part of the program and it got us all tickeled hearing him laugh! It was good to see him enjoying his sister. It reminded me that ah, he does love them even though they may fight and bicker with each other at times. It was a sweet moment!

Baseball Season

Oh, my gosh, baseball season is nearly over and I havn't posted anything on Rylan's games. He is doing so much better than last year at hitting the ball. It is amazing how much a little one developes in a year and we see it every year. He has been picked to be a "pull player"to play with the next age group up. He is one of four other boys from his age group that gets asked to play for a team when they are short on players. He has now been asked twice to play. We are so excited for him. He was so nervous the first game we pulled up to. He said "Mom, they are so big" I had many emotions for him. I was so excited but sad for the fear and anxiety he was feelin. It was one of those moments I wish I could wipe the fear away for him, put him up to bat, and he slam one right over the fence. BUT he got through it! The second time he was running to put his gear on!!! I never saw him move so fast! So anyway here are some pics. He is also a catcher and one of the pitchers for his team. We are so proud of him! (The last picture is of him at his first game he played with the big boys. He looks so sad and scared to me!)

We have been cleaning up around our lots where we keep the cattle sometime and had some wood to burn. Rylan had a friend over and the boys put the tent up and slept in it. Well that is until about two a.m. They came home and Russ said he was tired of sleeping on the ground. The boys had a blast. I had grilled some hot dogs and we ate out of the back of my car and stayed by the fire for awhile. We smelled like campfire so bad when we got home.

Rylan's New Horse

It has been so long since I posted. My battery recharger has not been working so I havn't taken pictures in awhile either. I finally replaced it. I have also been learning Ebay and it is a little time consuming but I am getting a little better at my listing and finally learning some about the shipping process which was so confusing at first.

Eatin at the Field

Well we weren't truly at the "field". Back in the day when Daddy T was around, He, Rusty and Russ had wheat fields. The ladies would take lunch and dinner to the guys in the field. It was a job for a couple of months that was from sun up on into the night. My sister-n-laws birthday is in June which is prime wheat season so alot of her birthdays I have been told were spent in the wheat fields. When Russ and I first were married I got to experience cooking just a couple of times for everyone and then taking it to the field for the guys and Sharla and Nanaw were there also.

Daddy T is no longer with us. Rusty and Russ are building a barn next to our house so this Sunday it was so nice I just thought I would take lunch to the "field" just like in the good ol days even though they were really just right next door. My children have never experienced the field lunch so I thought it would be pretty neat memory for them. You just pack everything up like a picnic, throw in some chairs and haul the food. Lay everything out on the tailgate and did in! The kids just loved it especially Rylan! Watch out for the wind though! Here are some pics.
