Eatin at the Field

Well we weren't truly at the "field". Back in the day when Daddy T was around, He, Rusty and Russ had wheat fields. The ladies would take lunch and dinner to the guys in the field. It was a job for a couple of months that was from sun up on into the night. My sister-n-laws birthday is in June which is prime wheat season so alot of her birthdays I have been told were spent in the wheat fields. When Russ and I first were married I got to experience cooking just a couple of times for everyone and then taking it to the field for the guys and Sharla and Nanaw were there also.
Daddy T is no longer with us. Rusty and Russ are building a barn next to our house so this Sunday it was so nice I just thought I would take lunch to the "field" just like in the good ol days even though they were really just right next door. My children have never experienced the field lunch so I thought it would be pretty neat memory for them. You just pack everything up like a picnic, throw in some chairs and haul the food. Lay everything out on the tailgate and did in! The kids just loved it especially Rylan! Watch out for the wind though! Here are some pics.

Such a character!

Rylan and I were out pricing furniture and here he was trying to get the full effect! The real reason behind me taking pictures was so Russ could see what we found for the day.

Tucking ourselves and baby!

My sweet girls going for a nap and making sure baby is tucked in just right also!!! Such sweet, sweet moments!

I forgot!!!!

We have a time out X at our house. ( I am proud to say I figured out all on my own to tape an X on the carpet for a specific spot the girls would know to go to for time out. Ha, not a week later I see Super Nanny explaining this to a parent. I had a proud parent moment!)

I had sent Micah to time out for I can't even recall now. Well I called for her to come to me and she didn't answer. I continued to wash dishes and forgot all about her and it never occuring to me in my busyness why she didn't answer me in the first place. So later yes I did remember her and found her fast asleep on our time out X. Bless her little soul!!!!

Oh, and don't you just love how her shirt is tucked in her pants at her belly. She sometimes forgets to pull her shirt out and fix it after going poddy. We were getting Rylans hair cut at cool cuts the other day and we used the poddy, both girls and I while Ry was getting a cut. Well about 5 minutes later after exiting the bathroom and going to the little play area and me sitting to read a magazine while the girls played, I looked up at the girls fussing and saw Micah's little dress tucked into the front of her panty's and she had been this way all this time! Where was my attention?

BRRRR.....It's cold outside.

Across the road At our arena

I took these pictures on Sat. when the freeze came in. I got the girls bundled up for about five minutes outside. It started raining on us so we had to come in earlier than I wanted. Rylan was out with his daddy putting out hay. I was getting cabin fever BAD!!!! I think just because I knew we were stuck inside! I ended up taking Rylan to the birthday party and Russ stayed at home with the girls! And yes as you can see my dear Micah has on FLIPFLOPS!!!!! I am learning what "pick your battles" means. She ended up going inside to change but then Avery and I were coming inside by that time! I am learning what pick your battles mean!

This is Rylan at Mr. Gattis at a birthday party last Sat. when it was so cold outside. Rylans "girlfriend" is in the middle and her sister is the little girl on the left who just loves Rylan to pieces! On Valentines Day he got his little girlfriend a basket that had a pink elephant with some chocolates and the basket said "wild about you". I wouldn't let him get any stuffed animal or basket that said "kiss me" I just didn't think that was age appropriate! Am I too strict? I just can't believe my 7 year old is interested in girls already! It is really all innocent, he likes her cause "she is rich and cute". I think his daddy has been talking to him! Anyway he ended up giving a little something to little sister so her feelings wouldn't be hurt! Both girls are sooo sweet and come from a sweet family! I just can't believe he is growing up so fast!

We love popcycles!

Micah is in the red. The girls just love popcycles! I caught them eating these at Gammy's house.

Globetrotters 2008

We had a fantastic time at the Globetrotters. Rylan had the best time getting his basketball and then getting autographs afterwards. The girls stayed with Gammy on this night so we could have a special night with Rylan. It was great seeing him smile and laugh.

Rylan and his Daddy

I came across these pictures and just had to share them with yall. They are pictures from last year when Rylan rode sheep and calves at the Future Pro Bull Riders Association. The guys hunting was opening day of dove season here at the house. I can still remember one of the first times Rylan experienced hunting. His cousin Parker was here and the two of them and Pops and Russ went hunting out behind the house. The boys would go and get the birds by the very edge of their wing just barely
wanting to touch the bird and when the guys shot the boys covered their ears. I am going to have to find those pictures and post for yall. They are sweet memories.
I sure miss the rodeoing gig. It was nice to know that our family was scheduled to have to do something all day together. The one of the boys coloring was us eating at Weatherford at one of the finals weekend.I also loved being outdoors and close to my family. I got to see them more often last year than most times before. That I will miss. I also miss my friends that we got to travel with!!! Sandee, we are going to go shopping on Granbury Square this year together!!!!!

Yes, this is MY SON!!!

I just love my son soooo much. He is so funny at times and when he knows he has you laughing he wants to try to keep you going so he trys to be funny more and more. I was in the living room and he walked out like this one night after his shower. Russ was gone out of town at work and I wanted to capture this moment for him. I am so glad I did! It just reminds me how precious children are and how fun they are at times!!!!

Playing Candyland

A new favorite of the girls is to play games. Here Avery still is a little sick with the flu but feeling much better at this point in time of the day. We are playing Candyland. They both took turns really well today and are learning the game better each time. I really enjoyed playing with them!

(Avery is on the left.)

Valentines Day

Avery spinning the cake. This is what her and Micah call stirring.

Rylan is so proud to help out!

Here they kids are making a funny face but I think Avery is just about out of energy with her being sick and all.

Russ is proud of HIS buttermilk pie!!!

This week Avery has ended up with the Flu!!! She is the one in the white bow. She is almost over it thank goodness. She didn't get the full fledge illness because I believe it was caught pretty early. Dr. Faehnle gave us medicine for Micah as well to prevent her from getting ill but the medicine is so yucky they hate taking it. Micah is pretty easy to bribe. I bribed her with balloon catching with me and she stepped right up! They love playing with balloons. Well Avery has a little of a stubborn streak! I ended up having to help her along with taking her meds!

So for Valentines, the kids helped me to cook a buttermilk pie just for Dad! Buttermilk and choc. meringue pie is a favorite of ours lately just cause I have actually accomplished making them! I must admit they are pretty good! I get the choc. pie recipe from my granny and grandpa Hallmark and the buttermilk recipe came from mom.

I wanted not only share Valentines with Russ but I also wanted to make it something special for the kiddos so they will look back and have a warm memory. So I got out my pretty red table cloth, candles and cooked chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and salad with cucumbers, carrots and cheese. Russ has especailly been working hard and extra hours lately so I really wanted him to get to come home to a good home cooked meal. I usually have something cooked when he gets home but it is usually something easy such as sloppy joes, chicken pot pie, tacos, etc. Russ says my meals are getting better, compared to the bar-b-q weenies I first made when we were dating. He hated those even though it is a favorite of mine. I won't tell you what he said about them but his compliment of my cooking getting better makes me proud to know he thinks that!

So anyway back to Valentines, I wanted to get some pictures so the kids would remember. I also picked them up some chocolates for the girls and Rylan got some heart cards and football cups from both Russ and I. WE HAD SUCH A NICE DINNER CONVERSATION AND THE NIGHT WAS TRULY A MEMORABLE ONE I WON'T FORGET AND MAKES ME GLAD I PUT IN THE TIME AND EFFORT FOR MY FAMILY!

Butter

Oh My!!!! My girls would eat the whole tub of butter if I would let them! YUCKY!!!!!!!!!! Avery is in the orange shirt and Micah in the blue! Of course I didn't let them have the tub of butter, I walked in on them eating it as I was doing something else in the house! Little sneaks!

This is my favorite picture! I love the church doors in the background.

Christmas Pics

These are a couple of the pictures I took with the kiddos as you can see at Christmas. I feel it is much easier for me to take the pictures with my camera although I do have a problem getting them printed and getting them to folks!
